The mental health conversationThe mental health crisis we are facing near the end of the COVID-19 pandemic is one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. We’re already starting to see signs of the looming “fourth wave” of this health crisis as our team works to support individuals and families of all ages and dynamics. What we’re seeing in the younger population is an increase in stress. Teenagers are taking on stress and anxiety as they fear their parents or family members getting sick. Many young people are angry and struggling to self-regulate. It’s important to recognize that the mental health challenges our youth experience can feel different than they may for adults. Before assumptions are made, we need to start by learning and hearing directly from our younger population on mental health. Some Other Solutions is proud to be hosting a virtual community screening of Connecting the Dots: A Global Conversation About Youth Mental Health. This screening will take place on May 5 and tickets will be $5/household (on sale soon!), with proceeds directly supporting mental health programming at SOS.
