Reconnecting with our young people - in personOur teams have been working extremely hard over the last year and a half to stay connected with everyone in our community, especially the younger community members. In a time of great uncertainty, Some Other Solutions remains a safe space for all children and youth in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. And while we made the tough decision to cancel our Creative Roots Summer Camps again this year, I am so excited to share some of the new, engaging programming we have developed for our youth. This summer there are four new programs that are designed to operate in person if it’s safe (and the weather permits), or flip to a virtual format if circumstances dictate. From a Junior Mentorship program to gardening with SOS and Mindful Minds, all of these programs are designed to connect and engage with young people ranging in ages from 7-18 years. There is more information below and on our website. Registration is open now! As we shift gears to in person programming and a slow return to whatever “normal” is, I want to thank my team. Since the start of COVID, we have welcomed an incredible group of staff to SOS who have raised the bar on how we provide service, the programs we develop and are actively engaged in the community.
