One of our commitments to the community is that we will be present. You will see Some Other Solutions and have the opportunity to connect with us in person, to learn more about how we are supporting mental health and wellness right here in Wood Buffalo.

Over the last few months you would have seen us at the Junebug Festival, the Frank Spragins Community Fair and the Harvest Festival, to name a few!

Grief and Loss Support Group starts Nov. 3

We are all impacted by grief and loss at some point in our lives. The loss of a loved one can be devastating and hard to tackle alone.

Counselling can help you move through the difficult emotions of grief, finding ways to remember and honour the loss and look for a new meaning and direction in life.

In addition to one-on-one counselling, we are starting a new 5-week group session for Grief and Loss support.

The group is free; however, participants are expected to attend each week for the duration of the program.

Tackling anxiety: learning to put your mind at ease

Anxiety is intense. 

One moment you’re sitting quietly at peace and the next, your head is spinning, heart is racing, muscles are tight, and you’re feeling intense emotions.

All because a triggering thought crossed your mind. 

Book a mental health workshop

Workshops at Some Other Solutions are opportunities to support the mental health and wellness of our community through group settings. These workshops are all appropriate for a variety of ages, settings, including schools, community groups, clients and workplaces.

We are also able to develop and deliver workshops tailored to specific topics and groups on request. Workshops at SOS are offered at a reduced rate for non-profit agencies.
