Coming together in the face of trauma

Our community has experienced a series of challenging events in the last several weeks and we know many people are grappling with the aftermath. Whether you’ve directly experienced these events, witnessed them or find yourself overwhelmed by associated anxiety, we want you to remember you’re not alone in these feelings.

It’s okay to seek help to navigate the painful consequences of trauma. Left untreated, trauma can manifest into PTSD, behavioural challenges, depression, anxiety and more. Even exposure to trauma at a distance can have an impact on a person’s day-to-day life.

If you’re finding it tough to cope with the recent events in our community, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your well-being matters and we want to help you feel secure and regain control.

Taking that first step by seeking support is essential.

NEW: After school mentoring

Young people who are mentored are more likely to be employed, earn more money, and achieve senior leadership positions. Having a positive adult role-model is vital to the health progression of every young person and we are excited to share a new opportunity for youth at Some Other Solutions.

After school mentoring sessions are now available to book directly online. Sessions are 30 minutes and available weekdays between 3-4:30 pm.

Out in the community

We are always happy to be out in the community to share more about how Some Other Solutions can be a partner for every individual and family who lives here.

In the last several weeks, we’ve been at the Homeless Connect event with RMWB, Frank Spragins Community Day and a World Suicide Prevention Day event at Keyano College and the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Walk.
