Celebrating mentoring across the provinceJanuary is #MentoringMonth across the country as organizations like Some Other Solutions and MENTOR Canada work together to celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of mentoring. From building confidence to improving social skills and helping these young folks stay in school, mentoring is a powerful tool that can give a young person the support they need to find success both now and in the future. For you, it’s a small committment of time. For the young person, they are learning new skills, being heard and feeling a sense of belonging and connection they may never have felt before. We know from research that healthy interactions with supportive adults can boost a child’s brain development, mental health and well-being.
