Mental health support for back-to-schoolAnxiety and stress. These are two of the primary areas of concern as we move through August and back-to-school looms. We are seeing it not only in the community in general, but through the majority of our counselling sessions. One of our priorities at Some Other Solutions remains working closely with the Public and Catholic School Systems in Wood Buffalo. We know there is reduced funding for school liaison workers and other supports, but we remain committed to being in the schools and supporting teachers and students. Through our mentorship programs, our community outreach workers build positive relationships with school-aged children, build a rapport and trust through various activities that focus on self-esteem, communication skills and coping skills.
